Emily Petersen is the managing photography editor at Science magazine in Washington, DC. She has been with Science since 2015. She transforms complex research into compelling photography. She loves connecting with other visually driven science experts. She regularly writes for the Science Visuals blog. She received her master’s degree from American University, where she studied photography, film, and environmental science. Before that, she was as a microbiologist for the Navy, and before that, she earned her bachelor’s degree in biology at Virginia Tech.
