Wild Landscape in Bhutan

Christian Ziegler

A breathtaking view from Dochula Pass, Bhutan. More than 60% of Bhutan is covered in undisturbed tropical forest - here you can see forest extending up to the tree line at almost 5000m with peaks of almost 7000m in the back ground! I feel so lucky to witness landscapes like this, which have stood unchanged for thousands and thousands of years. In our rapidly changing world, true wilderness like this is hard to find, and in the Himalayas it is essential to allow animals to migrate up and down the mountains with the changing seasons to find food and safe breeding grounds.
